Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Lucy's Dresshouse ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App. A parent or legal guardian must accept these terms on behalf of any child using the App.

2. Description of Service

Lucy's Dresshouse is an educational children's game designed for children ages 3–7. The App includes interactive story levels (12 today, with new ones added regularly, targeting 31 across 4 seasons), learning modules, a dress-up experience, mini-games, and a parent dashboard. The App is intended to be used under parental supervision.

3. User Accounts

The App operates locally on your device by default. No user account or registration is required to use the App. Player profiles are stored in your browser's local storage and are not transmitted to any server unless you opt into the optional cloud sync feature, which requires creating an account with a parent email address and password.

4. Parental Responsibility

The App is designed for children and should be used under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian. Parents are responsible for:

• Providing consent for their child to use the App
• Configuring appropriate difficulty and content settings
• Monitoring their child's usage through the Parent Settings dashboard
• Setting and managing the parent PIN for settings access
• Managing their child's data (export, deletion)

5. Subscriptions and Payments

Certain features of the App may require a paid subscription. If you purchase a subscription:

• Payment is processed securely through our payment provider (Stripe)
• A 7-day free trial is available on first-time monthly and annual subscriptions; you will not be charged if you cancel before the trial ends
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date
• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through Parent Settings
• You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction) to purchase a subscription

6. Intellectual Property

All content in the App, including but not limited to illustrations, characters, animations, questions, music, voice recordings, text, and source code, is the proprietary property of the App's creators and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on this content without prior written permission.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Attempt to bypass parental controls or the PIN gate
• Use the App for any purpose other than personal, non-commercial educational use
• Redistribute or resell the App or any of its content

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. The educational content is provided for general learning purposes and should not be considered a substitute for formal education.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the App's creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, arising from your use of the App.

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the App will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

11. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify users by updating the consent gate to require re-acceptance of the updated terms. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
